Simple question: brake pad wear indicator?

Hi all,
Quick question for riders here —
When you check brake pads on your bike, how do you decide it’s time to replace them?
Do you go by thickness, sound, feel, or a specific rule of thumb?

Hi!
Normally, I follow tha motorcycle´s manual.
Generally, when it gets less than 2 mm, I replace it.
